The second Survey on Users Profile is available on the homepage of the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies of the Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (Centro de Previsão do Tempo e Estudos Climáticos do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais – CPTEC/INPE). The survey aims to detail how companies and users benefit from weather information available on the homepage.

Besides knowing better the users profile, the survey intends to improve services and products available on the webpages. The number of visits to the CPTEC/INPE’s website increases every year, recording lots of page views during extreme events (heavy rainfall, drought periods etc.) and on the eve of public holidays and weekends. Last year there were more than 28 million visits to the CPTEC/INPE webpage, which became itself the major means of interaction with society.

The first edition of the survey, conducted between 2009 and 2010, has allowed bettering understanding CPTEC/INPE users and find, for example, the strong demand for courses in meteorology aimed at different areas. Thus, courses aimed at agriculture, air pollution monitoring, aviation, journalism, among others, have been created since 2011.  With data of this new survey it will be possible to compare the level of user satisfaction in relation to the first one.

Completing the survey takes about 10 minutes (25 questions). Data and personal information is confidential, and the survey can also be accessed by www.cptec.inpe.br/pesquisa2011.

The user who lives outside Brazil may also fill out the questionnaire, which is available in English and Spanish. The survey can be completed until June 15.
